Question: How current is the data the tool migrates to MoxiEngage?
Answer: The data is no more than two days old.
Question: How do I clean my contacts before they are migrated?
Answer: To clean your contacts:
- Remove/delete any contacts you do not want to migrate to MoxiEngage
- Correct any errors in your current contact information
- Remove extraneous data from your current contacts
- Check that your contacts are in the correct contact groups to keep them organized
Question: What data will the Migration Tool migrate to MoxiEngage?
Answer: Contacts from your previous CRM will be migrated to the My People tab in MoxiEngage. The contact fields that will be migrated are:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Address (multiple addresses will be migrated if multiple addresses are present in the previous CRM)
- Phone Numbers (Mobile, Home, Work)
- Emails (up to three emails labeled as Primary, Secondary, and Other)
- Job Title
Contact Groups are migrated as Contact Groups in MoxiEngage.
Contact Statuses are migrated as Contact Groups in MoxiEngage.
Reminders become Tasks in MoxiEngage.
Activities show in the contact's Activity tab in MoxiEngage.
Question: What happens to data that is not in the contact fields to be migrated?
Answer: Several contact fields from your previous CRM do not map to existing fields in MoxiEngage. We add information from these fields to a contact's Activity in MoxiEngage.
Question: How are Primary Sources handled in MoxiEngage?
Answer: Primary Sources are mapped to Lead Source tags in MoxiEngage. There are 42 lead tags. Lead tags are used to search for contacts from lead sources in MoxiEngage.
Original Primary lead sources are found in an Activity event in MoxiEngage to provide a bit more detail (like the originating lead app/service and the date the lead was received).
Question: How long will the migration take once I start it?
Answer: The time the migration takes depends on multiple factors including the number of contacts you are migrating (migration takes longer if you have many contacts). We expect most migrations to take 20-30 minutes.
Question: Can I migrate my data with the Migration Tool more than once?
Answer: The Migration Tool is a one-time event. If you enter data into your previous CRM after using the Migration tool that data will not be moved to MoxiEngage.
Question: If I opt out of using the Migration Tool will I be able to use it in the future?
Answer: You will not be able to use the Migration Tool if you select "Please don't bring any of my CRM data over to MoxiEngage (opt out of migration)". If you want to decide later to use the Migration Tool or not, please use the Skip for now button.
Question: I already have contacts in MoxiEngage, will using the Migration Tool create duplicates of those contacts?
Answer: The Migration Tool will not make a duplicate of your contacts as long as the contact's First Name, Last Name, and Primary Email match exactly. If you entered a different spelling, name, or email for the contact when you entered them in MoxiEngage than you did when you entered that contact in your previous CRM then a duplicate contact will be created to make sure no data is lost.
Question: How will migrating my data impact my O365 or Google contacts?
Answer: When you set up MoxiEngage your email account (either your brokerage O365, Google Workspace, or personal Google email account) was linked to your MoxiEngage account. Contact syncing is done automatically between your email account and MoxiEngage. All contacts you migrate from your previous CRM with the Migration Tool into MoxiEngage will also be added to the email account you linked to MoxiEngage.
We suggest cleaning the contacts from your previous CRM before using the Migration Tool. Please note, that once you migrate your contacts with the Migration Tool you cannot undo the migration.
Question: Will my contact "tags" from my previous CRM be migrated to MoxiEngage?
Answer: MoxiEngage does not have contact "tags" so the data will not be migrated.
Question: Can I access my previous CRM during the data migration?
Answer: Yes, you can access your previous CRM during the data migration.
Question: Can I access MoxiEngage during the data migration?
Answer: Yes, you can access MoxiEngage during the data migration. Please refrain from making changes to your contacts during the data migration to avoid causing issues with the migration.
Question: How do I know when my data migration is complete?
Answer: You will receive an email letting you know the migration is complete and you will see a notification in MoxiEngage.
