Texting your customers is a great way to stay in contact throughout the life of the transaction. However, keeping an historical record of your texts can be difficult. Texting through WAVV will allow you to keep notes and records about your text conversations while having the ease and relaxed experience for your customer.
When calling with WAVV, your own number is displayed to your customer, but WAVV uses a different number to do the actual dialing, meaning your phone number is just a Caller ID display. In order to comply with FCC regulations and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, texting must be done from an original number and your own number cannot be displayed.
Due to the need for a separate phone number for texting your clients, you will want to make sure past, current, or future clients have all your contact information saved. Here are a few best practices for sharing this information.
- Include your contact card, usually called a vcf or vCard, in your initial communication with a new client.
- Include your contact card in your email signature.
- Send an introductory statement with your first text to you customer. Below are some template options for introducing your new text message phone number.
- Hi {{client name}}, this is {{agent name}} from {{company}}. I've added a new number to make it easier for us to text regarding listings, appointments, and more. Make sure you save this additional number for me so we can stay in touch throughout your home search!
- Hi {{client name}}! This is {{agent name}} from {{company}}. I wanted to send you a quick update that I've added an additional number where we can send text messages if you prefer. Make sure you add this number to my contact in your phone so we can stay in touch!
- Hi {{client name}}, this is {{agent name}} from {{company}}. I just wanted to drop a text and let you know that I've added this new number for us to text, share listing information, and more to make your home {{search or sale}} easier. Talk soon!
