Advantages of Facebook vs. Instagram Business Accounts
Facebook has established itself as a staple of social media, making it more attractive to small businesses to establish a business presence. However, Instagram attracts a younger demographic, which is appealing to certain businesses catering to younger generations.
Instagram has a higher median engagement rate than Facebook. Instagram posts can, in general, generate more likes and comments than a typical Facebook post.
Instagram performs better with picture posts, as it was designed to be more visual, while Facebook outperforms Instagram on text posts.
Facebook allows a consumer to go deeper, as it allows a more complete profile of an agent or company to be placed on its network. Instagram is more about moments. If a consumer wants to find out more about you, they go to Facebook to read your profile. A consumer cannot find the same depth on Instagram.
Instagram was built for mobile platforms and thus has more experience in marketing to those who have a higher use of mobile devices. While Facebook has mobile apps, its demographic base uses more traditional forms of internet access, like PCs and Mac.
