Setting Up Your Yoast SEO Plugin for MoxiWebsites

SEO means Search Engin Optimization and it is the process used in your website’s technical configuration, it’s content relevance, and even link popularity so that every page of your website can be found easily and is seen as more relevant and popular during a user search online, helping you be found quicker.  Implementing SEO best practices will help search engines find your website more easily, which in turn will help more people find your website.  MoxiWorks Websites use the Yoast SEO WordPress Plugin to help you optimize your custom content for search engines.  Whether blog posts or a custom page, this allows search engines to easily identify when your site is relevant to the consumers search query so they can be directed to your site and search engines can rank you website more highly based on your content popularity and relevance.

 

To set up your Yoast SEO WordPress Plugin, select the SEO tab on the left-hand side of your website admin menu.

Select Configuration wizard! On the First-time SEO configuration panel.

The first step is identifying if your site is still under construction or if it is live and ready to be indexed.  Select Option A: My site is live and ready to be indexed.  MoxiWebsites are fully built and ready to go “out-of-the-box”.

Then select Next.

Step 2: Site type 

This will help Yoast SEO configure the plugin to help you optimize your blog posts and custom pages appropriately.  Since MoxiWebsites are not used only for blogs but to promote your real estate business, you could choose either, A small offline business, or Something else.

Then select Next.

Step 3: Organization or person 

  • Brand, Brokerage, and Office site types, select Organization
  • Agent or Team site types, select Person

Add the name of your Brand, Brokerage, or Office into the field for name of organization.
Select Choose An Image to upload your logo.
Add any or all of your social media URL’s into the provided fields.
Then select Next. (continue to Step 4)

Select the specific person from the dropdown menu (example: if you are on a team or have other site administrators, you may see more than one name listed in the drop-down menu.)

 

Step 4: Search engine visibility

Identify what content types you would like to appear in search engine results.  For MoxiWebsites, the “Posts” and “Pages” options are the most relevant. These will be your blog posts and your custom pages.  You can leave the settings at the default for each unless you do not wish to have either your blog posts or custom pages found by search engines.

Then select Next.

Step 5: Multiple Authors

Does your website have multiple people adding content?  If so, select Yes.

Then select Next.

Step 6: Title Settings

In this step, you can choose how each individual page of your website will display in the search results.  Your website name, followed by the selected Title separator symbol, and finally the page or blog post title.

Then select Next.

Step 7: Newsletter

You can sign up to receive a newsletter of information directly from Yoast SEO. This is not sent from MoxiWorks.

Then select Next.

Step 8: You might like

Find additional educational resources directly from Yoast SEO on types of keyword training, how to use the plug-in now that you’ve set it up, getting the most out of Yoast SEO, and more.

Step 9: Success!

You have now configured and installed Yoast SEO on your MoxiWebsite.  Please be sure to watch the included video on this last step as it will show you some additional information for using the plugin when creating either a blog post or custom page.

When you’re ready, select Close.

  1. Close the Configuration Wizard when you are done to be returned to your website settings.
