Creating Content

Use the DMS to create brand new content as an alternative to uploading preexisting content. You can create content in several different ways, as described below.

  1. Once signed into the DMS, click Create Content (see below, indicated by the red arrow).
  2. A drop-down menu will appear (see above, circled in red). Select the method you would like to use to create new content:
    1. Plain Text: Use this when you want to add content with only text in it with no formatting (ex. No bold, no italics, and no underlines).
    2. HTML:  Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the standard markup language used when creating Web pages. Use this if you would like to add formatting, links, or other tags.
    3. XML: Extensible Markup Language (XML) is markup language that defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. Use this when you want to separate formatting from the content (ex. Microsoft Office Suite uses XML).
    4. By Templated Node: Templated nodes provide a convenient way for users to quickly create content based on a pre-determined style, such as documents already formatted to company guidelines.
